Pffff, you Minmatar scum may have the AFK Farmers on your side in EVE, but don't think you can so easily win the battle on the ground. :]

For those that don't know:

Minmatar control 99% of sovereignty in FW because of the absolutely abysmal FW system devised in EVE. Basically people go into systems and activate these things called "Plexes" where in they destroy a few NPC ships and then proceed to hang out around a capture point for 15-30 minutes. If they control it for the allotted time without anyone coming in to scare them off, they get Loyalty Points for that faction as well as move the sovereignty slider for that system a little bit. So one Plex may move the slider from 40% to 43%, for example, and after it hits 51% for your faction you gain control and are able to access space stations in that system.

Thing is, after controlling a certain number of systems a faction can move up in "Tiers" which basically just gives a boost to loyalty Point rewards (which can be used to buy nifty faction loot). So Tier 1 is 50% LP, Tier 2 is 100% LP, Tier 3 is 150%, and Tier 4 is 200%. Minmatar are currently Tier 4 and Amarr are Tier 1.

What does this all mean?

Basically because Minmatar get a huge boost to LP and Amarr actually get their LP stifled, all the farmers (people who Plex unpopulated systems but run away at the first sign of trouble) jumped over to Minmatar in order to profit. The actual PvP in space has little effect on faction control, it's all Plexes that move the slider. So in essence FW is run by a bunch of AFK farmers that farm 24/7 and thus perpetually keep a faction in Tier 4 and the opposing in Tier 1. No one ends up wanting to play for the losers because they get LESS reward for being the underdog and fighting back, while the ones stomping the dead horse into the ground get MORE reward. And actually, having 100% control would be bad because them farmers wouldn't have anything to farm. So any system taken back by the Amarr is quickly taken back by the AFK farmers thus putting us in this perpetual deadlock where one faction has complete control all the time.

It's a crappy system that rewards people for doing nothing while giving absolutely no incentive for people to fight back. So in DUST if you're winning Minmatar battles you are actually deterring from the farmers in space because they have less systems to Plex while anyone fighting for Amarr and taking systems back actually helps the Minmatar in space because they can quickly take it back for huge rewards. Talk about convoluted eh?

You said "Minmatar scum," Mr.Whale, so I'm sure you'll be happy to hear that:
Minmatar control only 68% of the warzone, down from the 99% they had 3 weeks ago. Space side, the Amarr are back on an upswing, but that's because the mechanics allow it (unlike the new DUST side mechanics).

Also, the Minmatar were pushed down to Tier 2 a couple of weeks ago and haven't bothered to go back up, despite having the number of systems and (certainly) the LP to do so. Likewise, however, the Amarr haven't bothered to upgrade themselves up from T1 despite having the systems.

However, you're a bit mistaken on the contestation mechanics. Contestation needs to reach 100% and then a structure called the "ihub" becomes vulnerable. It is only after shooting this structure that the system changes hands.

I don't know about you, but I definitely need help from an organized squad.

I think I may have managed to squeeze 50% wins, but by a very thin margin.

It's pretty bad for morale that everyone who's good at this game is whoring for the Amarr.

I been playing for minmater this evening, played about 15 games id guess, think we won 2 lol

Each match i been in Its been nothing but stacked squads for amarr vs no squads with npc corps minmaters

One game had a squad or more of teamplayers, and they also had some randoms vs 3 of us on the minmater side, by the time our team filled up, everything was red and pretty much no one wanted to play

Its pretty much been like this every game i've joined, oh and then theres the joys of joining a game thats just about over with the mcc at half amour or less

1. I need dates and times you are available to squad.
2. I need you to at least tell me your Role and Lifetime SP.

I can't even participate in this event right now until we get a couple good, organized squads running at the same time.

I can't afford any more losses. Last night I would estimate we played over 20 matches and lost half of them.

And True Adamance, nobody cares which race is winning in FW, unless they play Eve which I have tried playing and got very bored of very quickly. It reminds me of Runescape in space.

Leave us alone until we get that, then go ahead and crush the Minmatar as much as you bloody please for all I care

Were not winning, you are. I am simply happy to see people taking more interest in the lore, FW, and the possibilities of change that FW will go through.

Also why would I let my enemy arm themselves if given the chance to fight now, in no coward but if I can avoid a long stand off fight I will.

You don't need dates and times for squad or lifetime SP or roles, that's just useless and a waste of time.

But starting a chat channel is a good idea. Also naming you squads helps, I named my squads last night for FW and they filled right up. Went 3 for 3.

Man, the pure ISK loss is not worth the reward.

I played Amarr all day today(I have the week off).

20 wins and 6 losses. A healthy number of them were absolute massacres. Complete redlines. I made a butt-load of ISK and reached SP cap.

I'll likely keep up with it until I get enough wins to get the Amarr stuff. Despite hating the Amarr down to the last cell of my body, I have to admit that they pay very well.

Maybe once I lock in the Amarr stuff, I might join the Minmatar to see if I can do better but right now the daytime matches are heavily weighted toward the Amarr.

If it is any consolation, the Minmatar do better in the North American evenings. I guess the people who play Minmatar have jobs and the Amarr players don't.
